Over the last 12 years Ben has photographed people and landscapes for advertising, corporate and editorial clients across Australia – in studio and on location. This is in addition to shooting personal work and exhibiting, which continues to be the motivating force.

It was during travels in Africa in 1996 that Ben decided to launch into photography. Completing a TAFE Cert.Phot in 1998 whilst working in a pro lab (Vison Graphics), Ben organised his first solo exhibition from time in Ethiopia. He then began freelance work and assisting some of Sydneys top photographers to gain valuable insight into the industry.

Ben has been teaching at SPW (Sydney Photographic Workshops) since 2006, and in November 2011 ran tutorial workshops for Sony at the Sydney Opera House as part of the World Photo Awards.

"The use of natural light is key in conveying the mood of the scene, and the practice of doing so is challenging but very rewarding. Creating strong images continues to be the driving force of my work. The places and people I encounter stimulate the process".

Ben is a freelance photographer with great people skills and an eye for detail. He is represented by Wildlight Photo Agency and lives in Sydney's inner west with his young family.
